Our client is a leading Irish provider of accountancy and advisory services for smart, commercially ambitious enterprises seeking the highest standards in client services and expertise.
Due to the ongoing growth in our audit group, they are currently seeking to recruit an audit senior to join their Cork team, with excellent opportunities for career progression. The role has a mixture of compliance and advisory work, and candidates will gain significant and varied experience.
Their audit portfolios cover a wide cross section of different industries offering a variety of work while also giving audit seniors the opportunities to work on advisory work such as financial due diligences, business plans, projections and management accounts for clients.
Key duties will include:
- Preparation of statutory financial statements.
- Completion of audit files on our electronic audit platform to comply with International Standards on Auditing (Ireland)
- Completion of corporate tax computations and using our corporate tax software product
- Training junior staff in the technical aspects of accounts preparation, auditing and taxation.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Completion of auditing, accounting, and taxation assignments to the firms internal quality control standard, within agreed financial budgets and to internal and statutory deadlines.
- Training and development of junior staff whilst leading them on client assignments
Training:
- Internal training will be provided to familiarise the job holder with internal documentation, methods and procedures to include our electronic audit and data analytics software products and on-line portals we utilise for secure, and efficient communication with our clients
- External professional training will also be provided depending on requirement and knowledge of the job holder.
The ideal candidate should have:
Knowledge:
- A strong professional and technical knowledge gained through education and experience is required.
- Membership of a recognised Professional Institute of Accountants is required.
- A good working knowledge of Accounting Standards is required.
- A working knowledge of Auditing Standards while desirable, can be learned on the job.
- A working knowledge of Irish tax legislation – not critical, can be learned.
Skills :
- The capability to prepare and complete statutory financial statements.
- The ability to carry out statutory audits to comply with auditing standards.
- English language skills both written and spoken.
- Communication with clients and their staff, in order to collect the required information necessary to complete assignments.
- Excellent IT and computer skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Organisational skills, with the ability to manage a diversified workload.
Experience:
- Completion of three years employment in a professional accounting practice with exposure to accounting, auditing and taxation work.
- Team leader on audit’s having delegated work to juniors and developed them through training.
