Audit reform legislation has required the market to look for increased diversity and choice of firms; and our financial services practice has been a key beneficiary of this. We are now recognised in the market as one of the foremost financial services audit and assurance practice and this is demonstrated by the significant number of Banking mandates transitioned to date and upcoming new engagements.
 
 
The Position
 
We wish to appoint an ambitious and diligent Senior Manager in our Financial Services Team with a focus on banking, capital markets, assets management, and aircraft leasing clients. Given the growth of the practice since changes in Audit reform legislation, the position will offer you excellent advancement opportunities working with a diverse range of high-profile financial institutions. You will work closely with our international colleagues on cross border assignments and build close working relationships with the senior management team and partners alongside playing an active role in the ongoing development of our financial services division. This position requires and individual with strong technical, interpersonal and client relationship skills.
 
 
Responsibilities
 
You will be given the opportunity to manage a portfolio of clients and carry out work to a high technical standard in a commercially beneficial manner. You will have the responsibility of leading a dedicated team including managing, organising and deploying staff on assignments as necessary. You will have a key role in formulating the strategic direction of the Financial Services team internally in terms of quality and standards and externally in terms of market direction for the team. Other duties include:
 
 
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of FS clients
  • Assist partners and directors in business development activities
  • Control the financial aspects of a client portfolio; including budgeting, negotiating, billing and recovery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across the firm and assist and collaborate with different business areas
  • Effectively plan and resource staff on assignments.
  • Promote the firm’s values and beliefs, demonstrating integrity and maintaining an ethical stance, using flexibility and tact to express views as necessary.
  • Communicate team goals with clarity and set clear objectives for team members that are aligned to business plans and monitors and assesses performance, providing timely feedback and support as necessary.
  • Recruit, promote and develop talent within the team, ensuring equal opportunities and providing feedback.
  • Maintain and apply up-to-date knowledge of the firm’s risk management policies and operational procedures and ensures team adherence to these.
  • Ensure client expectations and issues are understood, developing collaborative relationships.
  • Contribution to learning & development and coaching of junior staff including participation in the delivery of internal training courses
 
 
 
Principal Requirements
 
  • Qualified accountant with relevant FS audit experience in a Big 4/Top 10 practice environment (minimum 4 years PQE)
  • Role model within the team setting high standards of quality and demonstrating commitment to self-development.
  • Communicates team goals with clarity, sets clear objectives for team members that are aligned to business plans and monitors and assesses performance, providing timely feedback and support as necessary.
  • Effectively develops talent within the team.
  • Experience leading and operational supervision large audit group assignments
  • Thorough understanding and technical proficiency in IFRS
  • Fluent English with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational and project management capabilities
