Corporate Tax Associate Director | Growing Tax Department

Our client are seeking an experienced Corporate Tax Associate Director to join our expanding Tax department. In this role, you will leverage your deep technical expertise to develop solutions for complex tax issues, manage a team on challenging assignments, and oversee a portfolio of high-profile clients. Key Responsibilities

  • Client Relationship Management: Own and manage client relationships at a senior level, acting as the main point of contact for your portfolio.
  • Client Portfolio Management: Handle a portfolio of large, complex client assignments, offering innovative solutions to tax issues. You will proactively address increasingly complex technical matters, with a strong focus on domestic corporates, including large groups and multinational companies.
  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrate a solid understanding of corporate tax issues such as corporate interest restrictions, corporate loss reform, and Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) queries.
  • Business Development: Actively pursue new business opportunities, meeting financial targets and participating in tender processes by crafting personalized proposals.
  • Tax Advisory: Serve as the key advisor for sophisticated tax matters, analyzing and interpreting data to identify business issues and applying technical knowledge to develop solutions.
  • Risk Management: Maintain a thorough understanding of the firm's risk management processes, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, coach, and mentor managers and junior team members, providing regular feedback, conducting appraisals, and fostering team growth and development.
  • Financial Management: Take responsibility for the financial management of client accounts, ensuring effective budget control and profitability.
  • Firm-Wide Collaboration: Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the firm’s full range of services and products, contributing to business development and sales pitches for both your team and the broader firm.

Skills and Attributes

  • Qualifications: ACA, ACCA, or CTA qualified.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years post-qualification experience within a tax department of a large practice, ideally in a Big 6 firm.
  • Technical Expertise: Proven ability to navigate complex tax issues and identify opportunities for clients.
  • Leadership: A respected and approachable leader, who takes an active interest in team performance and wellbeing.
  • Self-Motivation: Capable of working independently while addressing broader team challenges.
  • Relationship Building: Skilled at developing trusted relationships with both clients and team members.
